Joy vs. Happiness

and the winner is...

Happiness is ever the elusive destination;
Joy is found in one place, One Person.

Happiness speaks from the surface;
Joy resounds from the depths.

Happiness is promised to no one;
Joy is offered to everyone.

Happiness just passes through;
Joy takes up residence.

Happiness is summed up in a word;
Joy is indescribable.

Happiness can be faked;
Joy has no substitute.

Happiness plans to depart;
Joy has a plan to linger.

Happiness is just an outfit;
Joy wears well all the time.

Happiness seems glamorous;
Joy is found in the humblest of places.

Happiness is subject to the weather;
Joy draws from the original Source.

Pursuing happiness consumes much time;
Joy is received in an instant.

The search for happiness burns a lot of money;
Joy is free yet has an infinite rate of return.

Happiness still leaves you feeling empty;
Joy fills you and flows out of you.

Happiness is a because-of attitude;
Joy is an in-spite-of attitude.

Happiness is the mirage in the desert;
Joy is found in the middle and the midst.

Happiness sometimes loses;
Joy always wins.

Happiness falls short;
Joy never disappoints.

Happiness looks attractive;
Joy is attractive.

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people…” Luke 2:10
